Whether you are looking for handmade sushi, elegant afternoon tea, a simple yet memorable lunch or a meal with a breathtaking view of the iconic Brighton beach, there will be a restaurant in this post to suit your needs.
These restaurants for businesses in Brighton all offer vegan options as part of their permanent menu. However, please note that only the restaurants and cafes marked an asterisk * are serving exclusively vegetarian and vegan options. At the time of writing, all venues in this post have multiple vegan options on their menu.
If you have read our Ulvmand manifesto or our post all about vegan cactus leather, you will know we believe in supporting businesses that make a positive impact on the planet. This is why we have chosen to list many independent restaurants that offer vegan options. As a small business ourselves we want to put out money where our mouth is and support small as much as possible.
To make it easier for you to find the best vegan restaurants in Brighton for a business lunch, here are our top choices across the beautiful seaside town.
Terre a Terre*
This award-winning 100% vegetarian restaurant has many vegan options on its menu. They are a lanes icon and it is well worth taking some time after lunch to browse around the lanes and show your guests what Brighton has to offer. It will be a memorable meeting by all accounts, surrounded by lots of local sellers and close to the seafront if you wish to take your guest down to the shore to marvel at the beautiful Brighton pier. Terre a Terre has a bright, professional interior and excellent service to match. They are also experts in wine and offer many vegan wine options. If you wish to get a bottle for the table the staff are willing to help you choose the very best option for your business lunch. Furthermore, they also offer wine tasting events (restrictions permitting) which would be a great idea for any launch party or Christmas event.
Visit the Terre a Terre website for more information about their opening times and for a full view of the menu.
Food for Friends*
Another award-winning restaurant is Food for Friends. They have been chosen as one of the Sunday Times Top 25 Vegetarian and Vegan restaurants. They are Brighton's original vegetarian and vegan restaurant. Having been serving the people of Brighton for over 40 years they sure are experts at vegan-friendly cuisine. They are open to catering for small or medium-sized groups, so we believe they would be a great choice for any team meeting you wish to hold or if you have a number of visitors they are sure to leave everyone with a great lasting impression of their visit to Brighton.
They specialise in 'beautiful dishes with unique flavours' and put major emphasis on the detail of their dishes and restaurant as a whole. The interior here showcases just how much thought has gone into this space. They don't brush over any details, from fine-tuning the perfect lighting to the art on the walls. With large windows on the premises, most tables are by the window, allowing you to watch the world go by. Plus, where possible they source produce from local sellers to provide the best quality coffee, cold-pressed juice and vegan sweet treats.
This plants only menu is available at the Food for Friends. See their website for more information.
The Roundhill, Brighton*
At just a 10 minute drive from the city centre, you can dine at a 100% Vegan Gastropub. For a more relaxed atmosphere and a 100% Vegan drinks menu, this would be our choice. However, this isn't the typical small, stuffy pub you might be thinking. The Roundhill has specifically designed its space to be as open and bright as possible. As well as bring the outside in with the addition of many houseplants throughout the space. They also offer outdoor seating for sunny days to enjoy a breath of fresh air while you work.
Check out The Roundhill online for more information.
Erpingham House, Brighton*
For an inviting, minimalist, and distraction-free zone we recommend Erpingham House. This elegant dining space offers a 100% Vegan menu, meaning there will be a huge array of dishes to suit anyone taste preferences. As well as beautiful interiors and delicious food, they also focus on being 100% plastic-free. The Erpingham House ethos is all about promoting plant-based food for sustainable living. They also believe no one should miss out and have catered their menu to accommodate for those looking for gluten-free alternatives. As a brand that shares these values, this is an Ulvmand top pick. Read our manifesto to hear more about our core principles and the Ulvmand brand ethos.
Erpingham House is based in Brighton, Norwich and Covent Garden. For Brighton branch see website here.
They have been voted Brighton's most sustainable restaurant. Therefore, there was no question when we decided to add Moshimo to this list of top vegan restaurants for vegan business lunches in Brighton. If you are looking for Japanese cuisine and beautiful handmade sushi then look no further.
Although they are not a vegan restaurant, they run a program that is currently the 'most successful global campaign to end overfishing ever seen'. Although as a vegan brand we do not support fishing, we can understand the value of fish in Japanese culture and cuisine. Though we do not choose to partake in fish consumption we can recognise their 'significant contribution to the protection of fish species around the globe'.
Planet India Brighton*
This family-run Indian restaurant is 100% vegetarian, with 70% of the options being suitable for vegans. Along with exceptional service, this restaurant offers a charming, charismatic and bright interior. Plus as a bonus, it is only a 10-minute walk from the main train station in Brighton, which is ideal if you are just visiting Brighton for the day and need a quick stopover for lunch.
Check out the Planet India website for further information about the all-vegetarian menu.
This reputable, independent café is open for modern British inspired breakfast, brunch and lunch. They offer a variety of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. They also use their own unique blend of artisan coffee and are more than happy to accommodate using plant-based milk. This café is also available for Private hire when restrictions allow. Perfect for any larger events, launch parties and team building afternoons.

With over 50% of their menu suitable for vegetarians and vegans, this Greek restaurant is a place where anyone can come to enjoy a comforting nostalgic lunch along with great food. Nostos interior is bright and airy, with a view of Palmeira Square. It is ideal for a quiet business meeting as it is just outside the hustle and bustle of the city centre. With just a 10 minute walk from the heart of Brighton, this place should stay on your radar. They focus on using season ingredients which is not only great for providing top-quality vegan dishes, but also a wonderful way to enjoy delicious food that is more environmentally friendly.
See the Nostos website for the full menu and location information.
The Vurger Co*
Although this 100% plant-based menu is fast food, we believe it deserved an honourable mention. Don't be fooled by the 'fast food' label, this is anything but greasy, tasteless food. In fact, we love their food for its vibrant in house-made sauces and dips. We wouldn't usually include fast food in our list of best vegan restaurants for business lunches but we believe there may be a time that this can suit your needs perfectly. If you need to grab a quick meal in a more casual, yet clean and bright setting The Vurger Co is the place for you. Great for a casual monthly overview of the last month’s progress or a catch up with a fellow team member.
For more information on this messy and indulgent delight visit The Vurger Co website.
Cyan Restaurant at The Grand Hotel
For a super memorable afternoon look no further than The Grand Hotel. Enjoy a high tea with a seaside view at this iconic Brighton hotel. Ensure you notify the staff when booking that you need the vegan option and then once you arrive you can sit back and know they can handle the rest. Unwind in the beautiful emerald seats and treat yourself to a bountiful array of teas, finger sandwiches, scones and the very best vegan cakes. Or take a look at their menu, which offers many vegetarian and vegan options. Enjoy your restaurant fine-dining experience with a view of the sea.
